Lavender, considered as the herb of love, was used as a perfume, to make clothes and linen have a pleasant aroma, as an insect repellant and was the main ingredient for incense in ancient Egypt. It was also used as a mild sedative and to treat minor nerve-related issues like restlessness.
Lavender is commonly used in soaps and candles due to its calming properties. Lavender is also known to assist in reducing anxiety and stress, restore dry, damaged skin and help reduce the appearance of scars as well as to heal minor burns and bug bites through its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
The Linalool in Lavender makes it a calming oil. Therefore it will leave you feeling collected and certain. Lavender is wonderful at promoting restful sleep, which can be especially helpful for those who battle with sleeplessness or insomnia.
